Eavestrough downspouts are an attachment fixed to the bottom of your eavestroughs to direct the flow of rainwater to the most appropriate location - away from your foundation! Downspouts may also be called downspout pipes, water pipes, or something else, depending on your location.

Eavestrough downspouts are fully sealed to your rain gutters, and we offer several downspout options with a minimum discharge of 3 feet away from your foundation! That's 3 more feet of freedom and protection against downspout clogging and underground plumbing issues.

Why is Mr. Trough a Trusted eavestrough downspout & downspout extension company in Eastern Ontario

Our eavestrough downspout extensions have a minimum discharge range of 3 ft!

Downspouts and downspout extensions protect your foundation, lawn, and roof from costly damage. Without a predetermined discharge location, the rainwater directed away from your roof could still end up in your basement or foundation.

Downspouts & extensions prevent eavestrough drainage issues:

  • Foundation damage - If eavestrough drainage isn't directed away from your home with downspouts, your home will show signs of foundation settlement, foundation cracks, sticking windows and doors, and other dangerous symptoms.

  • Poor indoor air quality - When moisture seeps into your basement or crawl space, the indoor air quality of your entire home is affected. Mold growth, musty smells, and other signs of lower indoor air quality occur.

  • Flooding - Downspouts will help protect your basement and crawl space from flooding during heavy rain. This will save you money, time, and stress on costly water damage repairs.

  • Water damage - Downspouts also move water away from your roof, siding, windows, door frames, and exterior paint, further protecting your home.

  • Harmful erosion - Pooled water can wreak havoc on your lawn and landscaping, decreasing curb appeal and home value.

What if my Eavestroughs are not seamless/professionally installed?

In the long run, eavestroughs that are not professionally installed may start a water runoff that can create damage to the foundation. This could eventually bring flooding in the basement.

As well, clogged gutters could cause water leakage into the house as the water backs up.

What happens if I leave my Eaves Clogged?

Clogged gutters can also lead to stagnant water build-up which allows mosquitoes to breed and weeds to grow into the eaves. This Backup will cause leaks and damages similar to clogged eavestroughs & leaky gutters.

Why upgrade your downspouts?

When downspout locations are limited or the roof is large bigger downspouts are a smart upgrade. They enhance the flow of water and makes sure the water is properly evacuated. Mr. Trough upgrades all downspouts at no extra charge to ensure a quality finish product with ultimate home protection. Our standard sizing of downspouts are 3 inches by 3 inches square making it difficult for snow and ice to form.

Why upgrade to 6″ eavestroughs?
Bigger roofs mean more water and there is no point in installing eavestroughing if the water will overflow near the foundation. Bigger is better— the handling of the volume of water is drastically improved! The material is a heavier gauge (thicker) and is stronger.

  • We mold the seamless eavestroughing directly on site

  • They may be adapted to all types of roofs and are anchored with gutter clips every 12”-16” for greater strength and hold. We will colour match to make sure everything blends in with your homes theme.
